Materials and Care
Materials
Our jewellery is made with 100% sterling silver, the vast majority of which is recycled. Our metal supplier is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, which maintain standards for jewellery sustainability worldwide. The metal we use can be refinished, repaired and recycled, and we can melt down and rework all our products ourselves. All gold-plated items are gold vermeil - made of sterling silver and plated with 20 carat gold at 2.5 microns. All pieces are nickel-free.
Our jewellery is handmade and imperfections and variations are a result of this process. Our pearls are natural freshwater cultured pearls. These contain natural imperfections which mean that your items will vary slightly from those pictured. However, if your item is not up the standard you expect please get in touch - it’s important to us that you enjoy your jewellery.
Care
Sterling silver will naturally tarnish and scratch over time and will be particularly affected by substances such as hairspray, perfumes and creams, so apply these before you put on your jewellery. Storing your jewellery with care (for example in the box provided) and softly wiping your jewellery with a polishing cloth intermittently can extend the life of your silver and gold-plated jewellery.
If you have Myrtle jewellery that has been damaged or is very tarnished, it can easily be refinished to its original condition. Please contact us at hello@myrtle.studio if you would like to re-plate or re-finish any of your Myrtle pieces.
